Alexandria is an online role-playing and board gaming library that contains information about more than 16,000 scenarios (of which more than 2,000 are available for download), 9,000 people, 2,500 conventions and 900 board games.

We need your help. We are dependent on content provided from the gaming scene as well as work from volunteers typing in the information from web sites, con programmes and so on.

Any help is useful. We have no requirements about the amount of work, the level of activity, deadlines, and so on. You will not be obliged in any way.

Here is an overview of tasks we currently need help with.

International content

We want content from every possible country. We need local people to find old programmes, make notice of new events, and help connecting to the local role-playing scene. We also need help with translating the Alexandria website to local languages. The translation amounts to about 2,000 words.

Type in list of games from programme

You can download the programme from the event page. We need to have all the games registered including related information (title, authors, etc.). Typing in the presentation is also useful, but it is not the highest priority.

There may already be a few games registered to the event. This information might be from third party sources, referenced when being rerun at other convention programmes, a note in the scenario and so on. In any case it makes sense to check up with the programme.

Locate the program

We are missing programmes for these events. Can you acquire any of them?

Tools for speeding up the process

Several office suites are able to apply OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to a document and translating the images to text. This could be easier than manually transcribing the content.

Microsoft Office and Google Docs natively supports opening PDF files and converting the content to text. There are also several online tools to perform the conversion.
