FOCUS was written as a parody of turn-of-the-century convention LARPs, in which well known archetypes such as the Adventurous Archeologist, the Annoying Reporter, the Gruff Policeman, and the Liberal Preacher were brought together in increasingly complex and implausible combinations. What the parodists failed to recognize was that this formula is so popular because it works so well.

FOCUS was originally written as a parody of turn-of-the-century convention LARPs (nowadays referred to as “secrets and powers” games) in which well known archetypes such as the adventurous archeologist, the annoying reporter, the inept police, and the evil mastermind were brought together in increasingly complex and implausible combinations. What the parodists failed to realize was that the formula was popular because it worked so well.

Authors include members of the Etherlines Tours writing group, led by the once legendary and now borderline mythical Uncle Don Ross.
