Om kongressen:
Come and join PapJam Scratch
A weekend of board game design in the heart of Copenhagen
PapJam Scratch is all about making a board game in 3 days from … scratch.
We will supply the location in the heart of Copenhagen, a heap of cardboard, bits and pieces and even a place to sleep, if you need one. You can bring an idea, a team or even nothing but your own good company.
There will be talks, there will be prizes and everything will be in english or bi-lingual.
What is a game jam you might ask!
Well, a game jam is a bunch of people getting together and creating games. And with board games (unlike video games), that means you don't need to know anything other than how to play a board game.
The event is for everyone, from veteran board game designers to all those who love board games and have always wanted to try making one of their own.
Early bird price until 30.july. DKK 250,- After that it will be 300,-
There will also be talks!
This year we will have great talks from two central figures in the Danish board game scene who both in different ways have done a lot for the Danish board game design scene.
Ole Steiness:
Computer Game Designer by day, Board Game Designer by night - Ole has been making computer games and board games for years, professionally and just for the fun of it!
Ole Steiness is the Game Designer behind Champions of Midgard, Police Precinct and Spurs.
Thomas Vigild:
Thomas is a journalist, consultant and lecturer who specializes in games, play and board games. He writes about games for several danish newspapers and is the jury chairman of the Danish board game prize Guldbrikken (“The Golden Game Piece”)
Sleeping quarters:
Copenhagen holds thousands of comfortable hotel beds within close proximity of the PapJam site. Or you can sleep under the same roof as the event (but VERY limited sleeping quarters).
What to bring:
We will supply all the materials needed to create and test games. But if you want to do some crazy hybrid game or a jenga based dexterity game, it wouldn't hurt to bring some things from home.
A computer might also be nice if you want to do some graphical work on there. There will be printers available.
Food:
Can I bring my own food? Yes, you can bring your own food. And there are lots of good cafés and places to get food close by the venue.
Furthermore we offer an optional food ticket for Friday allowing you to jam on without having to worry about leaving the premise and get the ball rolling on your games.
Drinks:
Kulturhuset sells cheap coffee and cheap beer all day and evening, snacks and sodas and whatever you like in that direction (You're not allowed to bring your own).
