In our near-future scenario, Great Britain has divided into separate states and England is on the verge of economic collapse, triggered by failed economic separatism and severe droughts. You will play an English refugee hoping to cross the border into Gweriniaeth Pobl Cymru (The People’s Republic of Wales), by any means necessary.
Through this black box scenario, we will offer you a chance to reflect on what it means to pass through the conceptual border between normal life and the ‘other’ life of the refugee, what has propelled or compelled your character to this point, and the hopes and fears they hold for the uncertain future before them.
The game is supported by an immersive soundscape by the sound artist Vanessa Massera.
Content warning: This game involves immersive soundscape, shouting, periods of blackout and of alternating low light and bright light (not strobe) that may be disorienting.
This game is fully embodied role play. Participation may involve moving about the space, possibly lying on the floor, lying or standing in close proximity to other players (side by side) for 15-20 min periods. It will also involve being physically handled by GM team (not fellow players and contact will be to arms and backs only) to move you around the space, sometime with urgency.
The GM team need to be made aware in advance of any particular concerns about your ability to participate in physical elements of the game. Please contact us as we are keen to ensure participation is open to all.
