Four writers are sent to a cabin in the Faroe Islands to finish the script for season two of the romantic hit series Lover. At night, the protagonist from the show, the “Dream Guy,” appears in their dreams, to fulfilling wet fantasies while spawning terrifying nightmares.

Dream Guy is a surreal, absurd horror comedy in which four writers are tormented by erotic dreams. Each battles their own obsession with perfection, desire, and recognition, and in the haze between dreams and reality they slip into the series they are creating together, until they are consumed by it in a shared descent into madness.

The first season of Lover was created by Alice Marquis and Barry Hart in a chaotic, deeply dysfunctional and destructive relationship that dragged them into an abyss of desire and pain while they fantasized themselves into an idyllic ideal. Now, together with their two new lovers, John Miller and Victoria James, they have decided to write season two of the perfect series about Jennifer, who in her search chases the Dream Guy across the Faroe Islands.
The four writers pursue perfection, but instead their shared fiction—Dream Guy—ends up possessing them and driving them to enact forbidden fantasies. Will it be a dream or a nightmare?

Dream Guy er en surrealistisk absurd horror komedie, hvor fire forfattere plages af våde drømme. Første sæson af serien Lover skabte Alice Marquis sammen med Barry Hart i et kaotisk og yderst dysfunktionelt og destruktivt forhold, hvor de trak hinanden ned i en afgrund af lyst, og smerte, alt imens at de sammen fantasererede sig væk, i et idylisk idealbillede. Nu har de sammen med deres to nye lover’s John Miller og Victoria James, valgt at skrive anden sæson af den perfekte serie om Jennifer der i sin søgen jagter Dream Guy på Færøerne.

De fire forfattere jagter det perfekte, i stedet ender deres fælles fiktion “Dream Guy”, med at besætte dem og får dem til at udleve forbudte fantasier. Bliver det drøm eller mareridt?
