The world is changing. Geography shifts, true north creeps away, the globe gets bigger and stranger. Power erupts amongst the human race as a harbinger. Twelve years ago, the first Outworlders, driven mad by their mutations, killed a million people and left Chicago as a forbidden DMZ. In the face of monsters, psychic talents proclaim themselves the defenders of humanity, and struggle to live up to this mantle. And then there’s you. Operatives of the government, investigators, bureaucrats, enforcers. Be calm. Be reasonable. Be ruthless. Humanity needs you.
Five times in the last six years, a hyperstorm has blown out of the Caribbean, ready to destroy everything in its path, killing tens of thousands. Five times, the storm has changed direction, steered between all islands and human settlements, and dissipated on the open ocean. Analysis suggested that someone in the region survived their mutation and gained a terrifying power...and now we've found her. Speak softly, be reassuring, be non-threatening...but bring her in.
