Description
Asking for It is a larp played in pairs about the reality of domestic violence. Domestic violence is a serious and widespread issue – it’s estimated that 1 in 4 women in the UK, and 1 in 6 men, will suffer it at some time in their lives.
Set in a scenario of on-going abuse, we will explore myths around intimate partner violence. What does it mean to have a choice in a situation where you don’t have freedom? How can you defend yourself when you’re no longer sure whether you should? This game is a realistic, non-sensationalist look at how these relationships begin and continue after abuse has occurred.
This game will include role-played emotional abuse, with physical and sexual abuse as possible backstory elements and descriptive elements within the game.
