**Weaponfall**

*Yulan Festival in Taipei* *The weapons fell like rain. In the span of less than a minute, thousands of them landing in clusters all over the world. At the Yulan Festival, a class of exchange students touch these weapons in awe. On contact, a glowing crystal heart formed around their necks and a whisper from the awakened spirits. These “Wielders” could see the Weapon Spirits bound to the Weapon- and also the whispering masked monsters that would later be named “Demons”. Weapon Spirits and Wielders, bound in that moment, began their first battle for their lives.* ===== *It has been two years since The Weaponfall. Taiwan’s parliament has sequestered their now (in)famous Wielders and Weapons to the “Rainbow Lotus Academy”. You are the first graduating class, but not all is well. The original bonds of Wielders and Weapons have fallen apart. The Taiwanese government has mandated that all Wielders and Weapon Spirits find new pairings to fight the resurgence of Demons by the end of this year’s Yulan Festival.*

*Seeking a new bond, you enter into a ritual between Wielder and Weapon Spirit. Will you survive the night? How will you reclaim your heart from your original bond? And will you find the one who is right for you?*

Weaponfall is an Ars Armandi Boffer LARP with the players being either college-aged Wielders or the Weapon Spirits bound to said weapons. Weaponfall uses boffer combat for the physical resolution of combat (a heavily-modified version of Accelerant) and Ars Armandi for weapon-wielder dating. Ars Amandi is a mechanic involving safe physical touch (of hands and arms only in this game) to simulate physical intimacy. There will be a 30 minute pre-game workshop to introduce the players to the Ars Armandi mechanic.

The majority of game time will consist of structured “dates” and combat as the players try to find compatible weapon-wielder pairs while battling demons.

For Wielder players, you will need either familiarity with boffer fighting or attend a boffer workshop. All boffer-related material like weapons, spell packets, etc will be provided by us. We strongly encourage anyone who wishes to play but have concerns about physical accommodations to contact us with questions. Many of the Weapon Spirits can be tailored for accessibility on an individual basis since you won’t be actively attacked (mostly) in combat but you’ll still need to know system calls.

For NPC sign-ups, familiarity with lightest-touch boffer combat systems is also required. There will be a few non-combat NPC roles. The majority of NPC activity will be melee combat roles with strong emotive components.
