Description
_"The Artist's feeling is their law."_
Romantic writers gather in Lake Geneva, Switzerland: Lord Byron, Percy Byshe Shelley, and Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin (she would marry Shelley later that year) in 1816--the haunted summer where the sun barely shines and snow falls in June and July. People fear famine, with Europe still recovering from the end of the Napoleonic wars. The Romantics look to the realm of emotion for inspiration to make Great Art. These artists read ghost stories and embark on making their own creations--including _Frankenstein_ and _The Vampyre_.
Players take the roles of these creators in their tangled emotional web, as well as the characters from their works of art. And in dreams, the authors must face their own creations, as well as their own fears.
A freeform larp. Thematic sequel to Darkness Visible, with a simpler structure. No knowledge of Darkness Visible is needed to play.
**Please note,** although main characters are specific genders (Lord Byron, Claire Clairmont, Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, Percy Bysshe Shelley, John Polidori) roles will be cast independent of gender. Each role will also include playing one or more additional characters from the works of the authors.
**Content Notes:** horror genre with traditional tropes (vampires, revenants, etc.), card playing for warm-up, may include fictional drug use, dysfunctional romantic entanglements, reading brief selections of fiction. For ages 18 and over only.
