Always wanted a dramatic death scene in a LARP? Well this is your chance. It is all we are doing. Just death, all death, all the time. Everybody Dies.
This is a game about death. Everybody will have died. Everybody will die. Everybody will witness deaths. Many will kill. There will be simulated violence and peaceful passings. Dark humor and deep pathos can both be found within… love and hope too.
This game is… serious, emotional, improvisational and intense. This game is not… melodramatic or overtly religious.
—-----------
Everybody Dies is a structured improvisational LARP experience with opportunity for inter-player drama and internal emotional play during short scenes with an overarching story and connective material. Players will take on multiple roles during the course of the game and have the opportunity to flesh out characters and make choices. Very brief scene information (a large index card maximum) will be absorbed just before playing scenes.
Physicality in action will be a significant part of our play. Players need to be able to get up and down off the floor and up and down from tables and chairs. Players of this game must be willing to touch and be touched by other players. For calibration this would be a level of touch you would see on a theater stage between actors doing a play or ballroom dance partners.
Please note: the above listed elements are present across all characters and not avoidable.

A Player Wrote: “This is a beautifully crafted, emotionally cathartic game, that melds elements of workshop games and litform games in some really interesting ways, and experiments with the form with delightful results. Do check the content warnings, but if you’re comfortable with those topics, this is highly recommended.”
Participant communications
There will be a casting form which includes player input on their character creation. Initial character roles will be distributed prior to the con. Low prep, modest reading. No ‘mechanics’ as such. Initial character sheets one page, 7 to 10 pages of blue-sheet to read. Players will take on additional roles in scenes during the LARP - one page maximum information to absorb per scene, most are ¼ or ½ page.
Costume: Wear comfortable blacks and soft shoes. A simple character piece per player will be added after casting (e.g. a hat, a tie, a belt, a scarf, a purse, a vest).
Some improv game workshopping will be done at the beginning to warm up and build group cohesion.
Most parts gender is not assigned, flexible, or unimportant - player can choose. Some short scene parts are gendered based on historical accuracy but gender isn’t important in play.
Content warnings
Tears, death, murder, suicide, simulated violence and weapons, fear of death, grief, dead bodies, and pain. Possible disaster, weapon, or scene appropriate sound effects. Low / eerie lighting. Please note: the above listed elements are present in the game and across all characters and not avoidable.
