This is a free form LARP, and as such, we want to explore themes. In the Bard’s Tale we want to explore, as in many other larps, a “What If?”

What if Shakespeare’s characters from several of their plays actually become not just self aware, but different from their original personalities, and no longer constrained by the boundaries of their text? Will Titania become friends with Beatrice? What about Ariel, what magic will she hold? Will Hamlet still suffer from his loss?

What would happen if they regained memories of their past inceptions, their drafts, characters that were there, characters that were lost? Even lost loves, lost lores?

What if that awakening puts 20 Shakespearean plays characters in the same house? Will Romeo still love Juliet? Will Hero pardon Claudio for wronging her?

What if the fourth wall is way thinner than what we think it is? Can we look back and wonder “is that wall the fourth wall that I can’t see?” Can someone be suddenly trapped on the wrong side of the curtain?

What am I here for? This is one of the metaphysical questions that our characters will face as they are no longer bound to the thing that kept them… existing.

Those are the themes that we want to explore and tell around in the wonderful environment of Shakespeare inspired situations, comedy, a bit of drama, obviously some deaths, and maybe even… some magic.

We will embark on the project of telling this tale, observing it from the inside of the play, from behind and beyond the curtain.

Este REV es abierto, y como tal, queremos explorar temas mas allá de lo obvio, al igual que en muchos otros REVs, queremos explorar la famosa pregunta de… “¿qué pasaría si…?”

¿Qué pasaría si los personajes de diversas obras de Shakespeare además de ser conscientes de sí mismos, tuvieran personalidades diferentes a las originales, y no se vieran limitades por los límites de sus textos?
¿Se harían amigas Titania y Beatriz? ¿Y Ariel, qué magia poseería?
¿Hamlet seguría sufriendo por su pérdida?

¿Qué pasaría si recuperasen los recuerdos de sus antiguos conceptos, sus esbozos, los personajes que fueron, los que se perdieron? ¿O incluso amores o pasados perdidos?

¿Y si este despertar juntara a 20 personajes de obras de Shakespeare en la misma casa? ¿Seguiría Romeo amando a Julieta? ¿Perdonaría Hero a Claudio por ofenderla?

¿Y si la cuarta pared fuera mucho más fina de lo que creíamos?
¿Podemos rememorar y preguntarnos si esa es la cuarta pared que nos resulta invisible? ¿Podría quedar alguien atrapado de repente en el lado incorrecto del telón?

¿Para qué estoy aquí? Esta es una de las preguntas metafísicas a la que se enfrentarán nuestros personajes al no seguir atados a lo que hacía que… existieran.

Esos son los temas que queremos explorar y contar en el maravilloso entorno que nos proporciona Shakespeare: inspiración, comedia y, por supuesto, un poco de drama, algunas muertes y, puede que incluso… algo de magia.

Nos embarcaremos en el proyecto de contar este relato, observándolo desde dentro de la obra, desde detrás y desde más allá del telón.
