It’s not that you were unaware of the dangers of magic. All students at Brakebills University know that they might someday lose their lives, or worse, through magic. But you thought if you did go, it would be in some dramatic way, some grand experiment, some big showdown. You really didn’t expect that you would die in a crashed subway car on a first year field trip… I mean, it’s such a boring way to go.
But surely a group of talented young magicians can figure a way out of a crumpled subway car buried in a collapsed tunnel that is ominously groaning as electricity sparks in through the broken windows… right?
