Bomb explodes at The National Museum

At 2 am. tonight a bomb was set off inside The National Museum. Several guards - duty at the time - where killed by the powerful blast, which destroyed most of the Egyptian display. The police are baffled by this "unprovoked act of destruction". Even though no one has stepped forward and claimed responsibility for the bombing, speculations among police and leading politicians is that one of the extreme branches the IRA is behind the bombing. But what the purpose of the bombing is no one knows The museum will be closed over the next couple of days for investigation by technical experts.
