Beskrivelse

Do you know who you are?, asks the strange little man in the blue room...

In regular old reality, you're a student at Westmoreland University in Kawami City, CT, doing your best to live an honest student life and to make it through your classes.  It's not easy. The workload is no joke at a place as elite as Westmoreland. Campus is a tense place right now -- there have been all manner of frightening news stories, including unexplained student riots and even mysterious deaths.  And, of course, whatever-comes-next is looming on the horizon, way too close for comfort.

On the internet, you're a noteworthy somebody, a very minor online celebrity of one kind or another.  A new social media network called ReSoNance is nearing the end of its year-long limited alpha release in the Kawami metro area, and you've done well for yourself in its little walled garden.  A community has grown up around your content; people listen to you; and there's every reason to think that you'll be able to parlay that following into something bigger, once the Grand Launch takes ReSoNance global.  You have enough of a presence, in fact, that ReSoNance itself has offered to partner with you. You'll be working with other local "superstars" to help promote the network in various ways. In return, well, the exposure is good...and that may be the least of what's on offer.

In the Cosmic Underground -- the unreal twilight world that you've learned to enter through a program on your computer, or in your dreams --

-- well, in that world, you don't really know what you are, or what you're supposed to be doing.  There are mysterious structures everywhere, all of them crawling with bizarre shadow monsters.  You can hardly go anywhere without being attacked. It's terrifying, or it feels like it should be.  But you're not terrified. You can call upon a spirit out of ancient legend, a Persona, and that spirit is somehow you, and the magic that it wields is mighty.  You have power, there. You are stronger than any shadow.

You really wish you understood why this is happening, or what it all means.

Now you find yourself being drawn to a new place in the Cosmic Underground, a place you've never seen before.  A theater, of sorts, all covered in blue velvet. And before you there sits a strange little man, who says:

A trial lies before you.  Are you prepared to face its rigors?

Reach out to those who walk beside you on this frightful path.  They will understand. In them, you will discover your true strength.

Find your voice.

*****

Persona L: Find Your Voice is an eight-hour game for 18 players.  It is about connection, influence, expression, culture, young adulthood, and the psychology of the social-media age.  The game is heavy on both mechanics and emotionality; be prepared to spend your time exploring human connections in depth, and also using mystical spirits to fight monsters. For an idea of the mechanical structure, please see the public rulebook [here.](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cfZ_Yko1fH9mpNGU0aNHNWds9zW03xK7Yu2EwSQn_z4/edit?usp=sharing) Total pregame reading is approximately fifty pages, including the rulebook and other background documents.

This is a fangame set in the universe of the Persona video game series. However, no prior knowledge of the series is necessary to play the LARP.

Persona L is a LARP about forming new bonds with new people. Pre-existing connections between characters are de-emphasized, relative to what you’d expect from a game of this size, and the game structure strongly encourages you to spend in-game time reaching out and opening up to people whom you won’t start out knowing very well.
