Mortals call it the Wyrd... it is the way of things. Some call it “fate” but only if they do not understand it. No one is born to be a particular thing, but they are on a path, and that path is laid out for them.

And where else are you to go... but down your path?

Welcome to Lloegyr, an ancient land of warriors and wizards, of would-be kings and queens and traitors, but most of all a land of ordinary people in the midst of an epic story. A prequel to the original Seal of the Dragon trilogy run in California from 2006 - 2008, this intense political drama incorporates tropes from Beowulf, Arthurian legend, and the Game of Thrones. Join us to see how this epic story begins. Knowledge of the prequel trilogy is not required or even revelant to this prequel.

Description of Play: Mournful Their Mood is American Freeform Larp set in a dark-ages fantasy world for 25 participants. Characters will be provided in advance, and will begin play after a brief safety and conflict resolution workshop. Participants will have a brief opportunity to talk with connected characters, but the bulk of the larp will be in-character. The story will be told in three hours, in real time, with a short debrief. Characters will be noble figures... mostly warriors and leaders... based in British and Anglo-Saxon legend. The characters have come together to discuss a treaty between historic enemies, who must figure out a way to ally against a common foe or perish. The primary conflict of the larp will be "do you give up your honor for survival?" Combat will be resolved with a cinematic system taught during the workshop.
