Beskrivelse

The Magical Era began a decade ago. For ten years, humanity has been vulnerable to strange supernatural threats beyond our comprehension. Void Terrors, the native creatures of the outer darkness, swarm across the Earth to feed on our thoughts and our emotions. Mad demiurges seek to rip apart reality so that they might replace it with something different.

But where there is fear, there is hope...and where there are monsters, there are heroes!

No one knows why it is that a few young men and women find themselves gifted with magical abilities, but it is clear that the world's salvation rests in their hands. Shining Princesses -- usually just called "magical girls" -- stand guard over the treasured dreams of mankind, which manifest as glorious paradise worlds in the depths of the void. Mystic Knights duel with one another to attain the mysterious Grails, said to hold unmatched power within them.

Who could be surprised that these rare and extraordinary souls, who serve as soldiers in an arcane war that no one else can understand, should be drawn to one another?

Every Memorial Day, the legendary Princess Phyrelios hosts a grand party at her house in Minneapolis. Knights and Princesses from across the United States are invited. For a few brief days, our nation's magical heroes can catch up with their far-flung comrades, and hopefully find some measure of peace and joy in a difficult world.

And with so many magic-users right there in town, the Twin Cities should obviously be EXTRA safe!

_Infinite Magical Glories: Impact Mosaic_ is a twenty-person LARP written by Kristen Hendricks, David Kotsonis, and Warren Tusk. It's a heavily anime-themed story about magical girls, occult duelists, and absurd over-the-top arcane metaphysics.

It is ALSO a game about community-building; about deep-seated community tensions; about punishment and forgiveness; about the power, and the limitations, of friendship and romance; about the burdens of responsibility; about competition and identity; and, above all things, about the many travails of being an American in your twenties.

A few important notes:

- This is a very emotional game. Almost all the characters are Wrestling with Something Big (or, often, more than one Something). We tried hard to punch every character in the gut with feelings, and if that's not what you want, this may not be the game for you.

- We consider this a "medium-plot" sort of LARP. There's no shortage of stuff to do -- there's a reason that we need a full eight hours to run it -- but the "chasing after well-defined goals" aspect of things is only a part of what we have going on. The odds are good that you'll spend some game time just hanging out at the magic-users' house party, talking to other characters about all the many issues that this setting presents, and processing the aforementioned gut-punchy feelings.

- _Impact Mosaic_ contains themes of sexual diversity and neurodiversity; depression; suicidal thoughts; violence, along with the psychological aftermath of violence; political conflict; and so, so, _so_ much social drama.

- This game has very extensive materials, by the standards of Intercon LARPs. Each PC will receive a character sheet, a public character-profiles document, a lexicon of setting lore terms, a setting lore timeline, a rulebook, and possibly one or two other things. Some of these documents may be pretty hefty. Be prepared to read some words.

- Players under 18 will not be accepted without prior GM approval. If you're under 18 and you want to be involved, please talk to us.
