As the North waged war on the South we were all worried that we'd tear this young, magnificent country of ours apart. Little did we know we'd rend the lands apart in sulphurous canyons, rivers filled with blood and the terrible locusts descending upon our children. "Brother upon brother", how could we not see these signs? How could we be so blind that we walked straight into Armageddon itself? What shall we do, now that the sky burns and the Four Horsemen ride? What will you do?

Spillet er Apocalypse World, men et eget western-hack og en mer umiddelbar Apocalypse. Spilledere (MCer) bør være kjent med Apocalypse World-/PBTA-metoden "Play to find out what happens" og spillere bør være forberedt på å måtte improvisere og ikke holdes for mye i hånden. Kunnskaper om Western, amerikansk borgerkrig, geografi eller 1800-tallet er ikke nødvendig.
