Description
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join together this man and this
woman in a marriage which will hopefully turn out better than that of either of their sets of parents. We acknowledge that divorce levels are on the rise in the big cities, but here in Scratton we try to stay together at all cost. We hope that the young couple won't regret staying here and starting a family -- hopefully soon, since we'd like to see more children here, now with so many young people leaving to pursue their careers. We hope that the couple will discover it was worth giving up on some of their dreams. Remember that Scratton can keep you safe from having your dreams shattered. Those of the guests intending to leave after the ceremony should know they're always welcome to return. After all, don't you feel unmoored, so far away from home? There is always love in Scratton, tough love sometimes, but love nonetheless. Let's raise a glass to love, and another, and another.
A wedding in a small town in the modern day. The characters are regular people carrying some difficult baggage. Some secrets might come out, but many will not -- why bring these things up after all these years anyway. A larp about small communities, imperfect families, staying or leaving your home, growing apart and coming back together.
Inspired by the larp 'A Wedding in Överum' by Jenny Fornell Hjelm and Eva Meunier
