Description

[QTP] Queen's Tea Party
A downloadable game

Welcome to the Seelie Court mortals. You are the first in many millennia to have been granted an invitation. And you did come prepared, yes you did, gifts of value gathered from far and wide. Oh how unfortunate that a wild fey, yes sure why not, a wild and malicious fey found its way past the very, very vigilant guards and shuffled all your gifts, even put the effort to wrap them in the exact same way and charm each and every gift. What a good little fey.

But worry not, the queen has taken pity on you and will forgive your unpreparedness. Well she'll forgive one of you, the one who presents her with the best selection of gifts before the third starry rain lights up the sky. The rest... will join the feast.

Setup:

Set the Firework cards aside, and shuffle the rest. Deal four cards to each player face down, don't look at them yet. Cards can be arranged in front of each player in any order. The order can't be changed during the game.

Shuffle the Firework cards in to the deck and place it in the middle of the table in reach of all players.

Each player can look at two of the four cards in their collection.

On each of your turns:

Draw one card from the deck, you can replace one card from your collection with the newly drawn card. If the drawn card is immediately discarded, resolve the written effect before ending your turn.

During opponent's turns:

If number on the top card of the discard pile matches a card in your or an opponent's collection, you can discard it. If you discard a card from an opponent's collection, give them one of your cards to fill the space.

Making mistakes:

If you attempt to discard a card, but the numbers are not the same, you skip your next turn. The wrongly revealed card is returned to its collection.

End of game:

When three Fireworks have been revealed, the game ends immediately.

If a player discards or otherwise reveals a Firework card, that card counts towards the game end condition. The player who revealed the Firework skips their next turn, they can still discard as normal.

Scoring:

Once the game ends, all players flip open all their cards and add all the points from gifts. Fireworks count as zero points.
