Description
Brindlewood Bay is roleplaying game about a group of elderly women - members of the local Murder Mavens mystery book club - who find themselves investigating (and solving!) actual murder mysteries in their quaint New England town.
The game strives for collaborative storytelling and features an innovative Mystery-solving mechanic. There is no pre-defined solution to the murder case, instead the players jointly piece together the clues, formulate a theory and finally play to find out if they are right!
Brindlewood Bay is directly inspired by the television show "Murder, She Wrote", but also takes inspiration from the cosmic horror genre, "cozy" crime dramas and American TV shows from the '70s, '80s and '90s.
The tone of this game bounces between the cozy and the creepy. While the game is generally lighthearted, some intense subject matter like murder (of all varieties) and horror elements will come up.
Session 1: Dad Overboard
When wealthy financier Albert Krause’s body washes ashore, his family insists it was a drunken accident, but Sheriff Dalrymple suspects otherwise. With time running out, the Mavens must navigate entitled heirs and hidden motives to uncover the truth before Albert is taken back to Boston.
