Description
This is a card game for 2-4 players made by Nicolai Brobak for a game jam with the theme "Please barrel with me".
Please barrel with me of course is an invitation to the ancient pirate custom of barreling for treasure, which is how treasure was divided up between crew members.
You start by grabbing a barrel of gold and two empty barrels, Everyone can see whats in the barrels and then they are flipped over and put in a row.
Now everyone selects which barrel they want by selecting eg. the first from the right or the third from the left, but you don't grab the barrel yet! Nobody else should know which barrel you chose.
Now you have to try to outsmart your crew members by switching around the barrels with your cards in such a way that the barrel you chose is the one containing the gold.
The number of cards in your start hand is 8 minus the number of players. You take turns playing one card at a time untill all players have one card left on their hand. However the card don't take effect immediately. At first you just place them in a stack.
Once you've placed all the required cards, they start taking effect. However they take effect from the top, so the last card played is the first card to take effect. Go through the stack one card at a time, enacting their effects.
Once all cards have been activated it's time to reveal which barrel is yours. Flip over your barrel. If it holds the gold, you win! If it holds nothing you lose. If it holds rotten fish, you lose and you stink :( There may be any number of winners to share the glory.
