Description

Gone is LARP about a person cleaning out the items left behind by someone they cared about who has either left them or passed on. A lover who broke up with them. A friend and roommate who they had a falling out with. A parent or spouse who passed away. A child who they have become permanently estranged from. Whatever relationship you wish to explore.

One player will take on the role of The One Left Behind. The other players will play objects that belonged to The One Who Is Gone. The objects arrange themselves in the play space and The One Left Behind will approach each of them as they consider them. The two players will then construct a memory that holding this object calls forth for The One Left Behind, with input from the other players. After each player has gotten to participate in a memory, the game concludes with The One Left Behind deciding, one by one, whether to keep or discard each object.

Gone is designed to be an emotionally intense experience, but is also a relatively quiet game, where there may be long stretches of silence, stillness, watching and listening to others, etc. As such, while it may be emotional, it is not necessarily high impact and is appropriate for people who are interested in the emotional/thematic content and want a game that is meditative, physically low key, subtle, or with a low cognitive load.

Content Warnings
May potentially deal with issues of grief, death, loss, and isolation.
