Chronan - a realm ruled by the theocratic Order, where chaotic forces are suppressed and condemned. Steam technology has brought great prosperity to Chronanese people, and the clergy preaches that it is all thanks to the eight Gods of Time and Order. This harmony is shaken by so-called Agents of Chaos - those that wish to be free to hold other faiths. These Agents seek ancient relics known as Chaos Artifacts that bestow their holders great power. One such artifact is rumored to have arrived to the Clockwork Tower, to the hands of a recluse Master Artificer known as Gnosticus Marvellan.

You are given a mission to retrieve the artifact from Master Marvellan's abode during his absence - either by the Order or the Agents of Chaos. You are aware that the tower is full of traps and guarded by automatons. Shortly after entering, you find yourself overwhelmed by the cunning artificer and drop through a trapdoor into a jail cell. There you find others who share your predicament - and your goal. You have to work together to break from the jail and overcome the security system, but who will get their hands on the prize first?
