Description
Saying it was a surprise the Captain wasn’t ejected from the fleet and hung drawn and quartered after the last voyage would do a disservice to understatement. Saying it’s flabbergasting that he was given charge of the newest, finest war galley on the seas, would be to invite the ire of the fates, not to mention twenty lashes.
More surprising than all of this, is that the mad bastard brought many of his old crew with him. Now you sail for Beryll, a land ruled by the formidable wizard-priests, laden with cargo through waters infested with Norak pirates, with a motley crew of marines and sailors, half of whom you know only well enough to dislike, nevermind trust.
Best forgotten, is your one mage, of dubious sanity, hygiene and ability. Impossible to forget is your captain’s cavalier attitude and casual disregard for the safety of others.
Worse than all of this, you’ve just hit the doldrums. This damned calm just won’t lift and the heat is stifling. Thank the gods for your first officer. Surely he’ll pull you all through it, right?
