Description

It’s 1906. Twenty years ago, when a political first strike intersected with an age-old magical ritual, people around the world suddenly stopped dreaming about the lives their ancestors lived. Today, the ritual will be attempted again. The old leadership of the magical community will pass the torch to their children, and a new generation of magical leaders will wrestle with their responsibilities and identities in the world their parents left to them.

The Hand You’re Dealt is a negotiation-heavy game about connections between people, and how previous generations shape us, how we shape ourselves, and how we shape our legacies. It takes place in a world quite like our own in the year 1906 at a meeting that happens in every generation, where a secret group of mages decide the shape of connections in the world, their children, and themselves.

Reading will consist of 8-10 page character sheets, sent well in advance, plus 10-20 pages of background/rules.
