Description

What if you could change the lives of the people who most impacted yours?

Hot Tub Time Machine (HTTM) is a 3.5-4 hour theater LARP for 6 people that can be described as modern art history meets the 2010’s movie by the same name. Half of the players will be accidentally traveling through time via hot tub trying to change as much - or as little - as possible, and dealing with the repercussions of their actions on a changing future. The other half will be playing linear scenes with decision envelopes at the close of each, forcing them to make choices about their future. Linear characters will have time to read the results of their decisions and change into attire appropriate for the next era while the traveling characters will continue their contiguous play in the hot tub. (We are currently unable to promise a hot tub for this game, but the tub is just a mechanic anyway.)

None of the characters are based wholly on real people, but they will be influenced by the notable artists and events that converged in New York City in the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. This game will include individual themes of parenthood, infidelity, alcoholism, drug use, depression, and death of loved ones. This game may include wider-scope issues of war, nuclear violence, and gender inequality.
