Description

The Emerald Chorus is a David Lynch-esque Historical Fantasy set in Spanish Louisiana during the Revolutionary War. The players take on the roles of Acadian (French) and Isleño (Spanish) settlers whose quarrelling communities are about to be linked by marriage. Little do they know that the servants of the Emerald Chorus watch them closely. Who are they? And how will their boons shape the stories of those meant to live and love in a time of war?

This LARP takes place both within the setting described above as well as on the meta level. During 3 Acts of play, players roleplay characters in the story. In interludes between the three acts, characters step out of the story and influence it from a more zoomed-out perspective. The timeline of the entire scenario spans almost a year.

This scenario took inspiration from the following fiction: Twin Peaks, Hamilton, Barkskins, Turn, The Night Circus, A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Tempest, The Chronicles of Amber, Dear Substance of Kin, and The Council. It was premiered for the first time at the Make a Scene Scenario Festival in Minneapolis in October of 2021.
