Description
*“My dear Mr. Bennet,” said his lady to him one day, “have you heard that Netherfield Park is let at last?"*
Mr Bennet, a gentleman of modest means and the father of five daughters, has invited new neighbours and friends over for tea at his home, Longbourn House, so that they can get to know each other. His wife strongly believes that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.
The game is set in the world of Jane Austen’s *Pride and Prejudice*, but players should expect the unexpected, as elegant Regency costumes and decorous manners conceal that all is not how it seems on the outside. Surprises abound for characters who are concerned for their futures in an uncertain world. We hope that Austen, a fan of the pleasing shocks of Gothic novels, would approve of the liberties we have taken with her characters. Players seeking a straightforward Regency game setting of courtship and social climbing should look elsewhere.
