Description

The world has never been this advanced. All the promises of science fiction - flying cars, clone bodies, cybernetics, a cure for every disease, augmented and virtual reality - came to pass in one vast leap of progress, and the world is bright and shining and new.

The world has never been so unsteady. Corporations with employee populations the size of small countries but with no geographic borders vie for power and control, back and forth within a few city blocks. They control the resources, everything needed for life. Competition is cutthroat, both figurative and literal. Beneath the sheen of progress, people scrape by, tearing out space for themselves where they can by whatever means necessary. They starve and fight and make compromising choices to survive and the world is a mess.

In the depths of this metropolitan quagmire stands The Samaen Corporation, always, somehow, just ahead of the competition by a thin bleeding edge. With a finger in every pie, its competitors find this infuriating. But now, with a recent announcement of an upcoming product development, the competitors have a chance to turn the tables. And you - hardened criminal, lifetime mercenary, or simply a skilled layperson with a grudge - have the chance to help them do it.

One More Perfect is a 4 hour boffer/theater style fusion game of cyberpunk aesthetics and science fiction, urban fantasy, and transhumanist themes. The potential for PVP tension exists as some characters have conflicting goals, but is not primary focus of the plot. Additionally, some characters will have significantly more information about the world than others, and personal and collective failure conditions exist.

We use a 4 page unique ruleset designed for this game that is easy to learn and are open to both veterans of live combat games and those who have never played one before. We are currently unable to accomodate a player who requires a wheelchair, but there are options available for combat at range (nerf guns, spell packets) or characters with non-combat focuses, as long as the player is still able to be on their feet for much of game and okay with being hit with boffers. Other accommodations (font size for character sheets, casting around squicks, etc) are things the GMS are willing and able to provide. NPCs will primarily be in combat with a very small amount of light roleplay.
