Description
In the aftermath of the French Revolution, as the world comes to grips with what happened, rumors swirl of the Victims' Balls, parties held to celebrate surviving and honor those lost to the Reign of Terror. Some say such events are nothing but debauchery and madness. Tonight, you are one of a group of strangers invited to the first such event ever held outside of France. But who would willingly host such a ghoulish event? Whatever the reason, it will be the social event of the year. A Call of Cthulhu style horror game set in the Highlands of Scotland in 1798. This LARP focuses primarily on role-play and atmosphere, and is light on plot and mechanics. You need not have played Victims' Ball. Some characters have no knowledge of the events of previous parties; others do. This LARP involves darkness and a musical soundtrack that might trouble some people. Dancing is encouraged but not required, as the game takes place at a ball. The host will be requesting, in-character, their guests to wear a ribbon around their necks and remove their shoes. If you are uncomfortable with this, you do not have to actually do this out-of-character.
Most character sheets are under two pages in length. Some characters are available to cast at the door.
Adult themes are likely. This LARP is not for players under 18 without parental approval.
