Description

Father Francis died last week when the car he was in went over a cliff, may he rest in peace. The funeral was this morning, and the parishioners have now left leaving the priests and nuns to get down to serious Church business.

Father Francis' death was particularly tragic as it was expected that he would be promoted to the position of Bishop of the Diocese of Peaky-in-the-Sea (Rocky Island, Stony Island and Pebbly Island). Of course, this now leaves the position open ...

An Ecumenical Matter is inspired by the British sitcom Father Ted, and is accordingly hilarious, light-hearted and irreverent. No knowledge of the show is necessary, but a sense of humour and willingness to pose as a member of the clergy are preferable.

Following the tragic death of Father Francis (who died last week when the car he was in went over a cliff, may he rest in peace) who was about to be promoted to the position of Bishop of the Diocese of Peaky-in-the-Sea (Rocky Island, Stony Island and Pebbly Island), there is now an open position.

The funeral was this morning, and the parishioners have now left leaving the priests and nuns to get down to serious church business, drinking all the tea and eating all the cake. There will be actual cake.

An Ecumenical Matter is set in the Irish diocese of Peaky-in-the-Sea. The characters are priests, nuns, housekeepers, and representatives of the church here to decide who should be the next bishop. It is a light-hearted freeform for 15 players, very loosely based on Father Ted and other sources. We strongly recommend watching some episodes of Father Ted which can be found online before signing up to get a feel for the type of content.
