The St. Merdhyn Institute considers itself a haven for the strange and supernatural, a place of respite for young, monstrous individuals with nowhere else to go. The manor stands tall above the cliff of Porthallow, Cornwall - one of those places where threads of old stories and older magicks still hold strong.

In truth, it is as much prison as a haven. Humanity only accepts the weird and other when it can be controlled, or shut away somewhere where it doesn’t have to be seen. Once a year, an inspection takes place, to ensure that everything is as it should be. The humans ensure that this sanctuary never becomes too much of a threat.

The chief inspector has been murdered. And all of you are suspects.

In this larp, you will play a monstrous archetype, the Vampire, the Werewolf, the Selkie, the Knocker - dealing with the struggles of coexisting in a closed room as you wait for the arrival of the authorities. They don’t like you already, but now you’re a suspect in a murder. Perhaps one of you is responsible? Yeah…that seems like a Redcap thing to do…

Each of you has a history with the murder victim, and it’s possible that something far more sinister might be afoot. You all know what happens to creatures like you in the regular mortal world. Will you convince your friend to take the fall for you? Can you frame your enemy to make sure the people you care about stay safe?

As new evidence comes to light, perhaps the only way to ensure each of you gets out of this is to decipher the truth, and set your differences aside. Ooor, you could take the Selkie’s skin when they’re not looking.
