Welcome to the ancient forests of medieval Finland, where Finnish mythology and folklore come to life alongside horror themes familiar from the Souls video game series. Darkness reigns within the mist-shrouded forests, with dangers lurking around every corner, and beloved characters from the Kalevala, such as Väinämöinen and Louhi, have returned to vie for control of the land. Players step into the shoes of undead forest Finns to confront mythical creatures, solve mysteries, and perhaps discover powerful magical artifacts and other legendary treasures.

I will run two games in Ropecon, with the same theme but different content.

Shadowdark RPG is a D&D-based, easy, fast, and streamlined tabletop role-playing system, released in early '23. Participation does not require prior experience in role-playing games, although more experienced players will likely find many mechanics familiar. You have the option to create your own character or play with pre-generated characters.

Tervetuloa keskiaikaisen Suomen ikimetsiin, missä suomalainen mytologia ja perimätieto heräävät eloon Souls-pelisarjasta tuttujen kauhuteemojen kera. Pimeys vallitsee sumujen peittämien metsien sydämessä, vaarat vaanivat joka kulman takana ja Kalevalasta tutut hahmot kuten Väinämöinen ja Louhi ovat palanneet kamppailemaan maan hallinnasta. Pelaajat astuvat epäkuolleiden metsäsuomalaisten saappaisiin kohtaamaan myyttisiä olentoja, ratkomaan mysteereitä ja kenties löytämään väkeviä taikaesineitä ja muita legendaarisia aarteita.

Osallistuminen ei vaadi aiempaa kokemusta roolipelaamisesta, kokeneemmille monet mekaniikat ovat varmasti ennestään tuttuja. Tarjolla on mahdollisuus luoda oma hahmo, tai pelata valmiilla hahmolla.
