Foromtale
“Sir, either our sensors are malfunctioning, or that thing is fully operational, despite its appearance.”
You are the crew of a Gozanti-class cruiser, and you are drowning in debt. With 100,000 credits still owed on your hull, you aren’t heroes – you’re professionals with flexible morals and a desperate need for a solid paycheck.
The contract from the broker was simple: Recover the RV-12 Mercy Drift, a Republic medical frigate drifting silent in a debris lane.
The job is clear: Clear the hostiles, secure the VIP, and tow the ship to coordinates to be designated later. The payout would clear your debts forever.
From the cockpit, the Mercy Drift looks like a drifting corpse, scarred by capital-class blasts and flickering with the ghost-light of failing emergency power.
But the sensors tell a different story.
Diagnostics insist the ship is “alive”, its systems are humming on minimal power, life-support is active, and density scans reveal recent, unexplained repairs to the ravaged hull. No one responds to your hails. Internal life-signs are inconclusive.
As your boarding shuttle approaches the Mercy Drift, the silence of the void feels heavier than it should. In the cold vacuum, the line between a lucky salvage and a nightmare is thinner than a blast door.
The air is thinning. The interest is rising. It’s time to board.
Warning: Contains themes of claustrophobia and psychological horror.
