Foromtale
40 years ago, in 1862, London was stolen by bats, and fell underground to a deep, dark cave known as the Neath.
Unsurprisingly, this brought some changes – death is rarely permanent, the city is run by the Masters, giant cloaked beings, while the Traitor Empress hides away in the Shuttered Palace, and the diet is mostly fungal-based, these days. Not to mention the talking cats, rats, Clay Men and the Rubberies – London is a diverse city, far from the Sun.
The lessened permanence of death has given rise to a peculiar public menace known as ‘Jack-of-Smiles’, a lunatic murderer who pops up every so often, slits some throats and even if put down, returns at a later point.
The Hunters, under the guidance of the Prescriptive Naturalist, have gathered to destroy the greatest monsters of the Neath, and have set your sights on Jack-of-Smiles. It just so happens that you have been offered a rather promising lead, if you could only help with one little thing – find a missing poet by the name of Myles Remington.
The Fallen London TTRPG is based on the setting from the browser game of the same name and the games Sunless Sea, Sunless Skies and Mask of the Rose. Due to the source material’s intrinsic connection with the English language, this scenario will be run in said language. No prior knowledge of the setting is required to play this game.
