Dark Tower of Song

Based on the music of Leonard Cohen mixed with the cosmology of the Stephen King Dark Tower series, this is a four hour, low-mechanics, high-roleplay game that explores our connected journey through the Cycle of Destiny, one’s place within the Cycle, and the nature of the Wheel itself.

Each character will be rooted in a specific Leonard Cohen song, and players will portray either petitioners or arbiters in the Tower of Song, pleading their cases for movement through the cycle and sharing stages of the journey amongst each other. Knowledge of either Leonard Cohen or the Dark Tower is not necessary to fully participate in the game, and the authors acknowledge they are making new stories within the conceptual canon more than a literal adaptation of the material. “Different content, different ka.”

Out of Game Information
Character casting will be done by online survey, and character sheets (including audio) will be sent via email in advance of the game.

Themes will include: Religion, sex, doubt, ageism, mortality, death, loss, working through futility

While we can cast people with a mind to not making a theme central to their character, we cannot guarantee to keep anyone isolated from said theme(s) completely.

Participant communications
Casting and communications by email and Google survey in advance of the event. Sheets and lore not to exceed 8 pages. We will also be sending music files/links as part of character sheets.
