Foromtale
For as long as there have been gods there have been those that apposed them. The Ancient Egyptians had Apep the serpent, the Norse gods had a huge array of enemies like Fenrir and the Frost Giants and the Persians had the Daeva. The name that gradually came to mean all of these powerful enemies was the Titans which taken from the name for the powerful primal forerunners to the Greek pantheon of gods. Most pantheons found ways to restrict their enemies, to bind them into trees or mountains, to reduce their powers in some way, or to send them to one of the other realms where they couldnt use their powers to escape.
But they did escape. A massive battle between the gods and the Titans caused Atlantis to sink and so to prevent any further disruption both sides used their children to fight the war instead.
You are those children. Today is a momentous occasion, it is the first time that the children of both sides of the conflict will meet with the potential for peace in over a millennia. You are taking part of the party that will introduce key players in the potential negotiations to each other. There will be those that will try to derail this potential peace process and those that fight just as hard to keep it on track. Old scores may be settled, other interested parties may try to get involved with the peace talks and deals will be made. It will not be easy but there is a chance, a small chance, for peace Expect negotiation, hidden affiliations, magic, old relics, politics, assassination attempts and maybe a bit of fighting.
Costuming is as minimal or as much as you want to do. The setting is a business party event so you could wear business clothes or dress for the party or dress to honour your godly parent. Some players may have characters that could take multiple forms which they may want to represent if they wish. Some characters may also have none human forms that they may wish to represent but there will be large badges to indicate the form the player is in. Research into the pantheon that your parent comes from may be useful but absolutely not necessary as full blue sheets will be sent out with the character hints. I want to highlight some themes that run through some characters which are war, theological discussions, murder, assassination, discussions of human experimentation, adoption and Im happy to discuss anything that makes players feel uncomfortable.
