Foromtale

“Come all ye rolling minstrels And together we will try To rouse the spirits of the earth And move the rolling sky.”

Once, the Rhymers were the kings and queens of the music world. Despite early tragedy, they rose from playing in pubs to selling out stadiums. But every charmed life must come to an end, and decades later, all that remains is the music that built their lasting legacy as the greatest band ever: creative differences, (inter)personal troubles, and death took care of the rest. Now, the surviving band members and others close to the band have gathered for a reunion show of a sort, with no audience but themselves: an attempt to communicate with one of their deceased bandmates.

Vague inspirations: The Beatles and Get Back, Fairport Convention and Electric Eden, Wylding Hall, ???

“Come all ye rolling minstrels And together we will try To rouse the spirits of the earth And move the rolling sky.”

Once, the Rhymers were the kings and queens of the music world. Despite early tragedy, they rose from playing covers and folk ballads in pubs to selling out stadiums.

There's only one problem - well, only one if you put aside the fact that some of the band members have barely spoken to each other since even before the Rhymers split up. It's that Jo, the band's deceased guitarist, knew more about the occult than anyone else who's gathered to speak to her ghost. Players will sift through the rambling old country house where the band wrote and recorded some of their greatest work, and try to find the clues they need among the memories, secrets, and just plain weird stuff.

No singing or musical ability is required! In-story, players can simply state that their character is singing or playing if desired. This is not a puzzle game and is more about interpersonal interaction and emotions than solving a mystery, but searching for clues and then performing the seance forms the majority of the game action.

Vague inspirations: The Beatles and Get Back, Fairport Convention and Electric Eden, other folk stuff, Wylding Hall, ???
