In the early 1970s, a midwestern lakeside concert venue burned to the ground during a major performance. Unable to escape through clogged exits, the lead guitarist smashed a window with his instrument, helping others evacuate before he, too, fled. The police quickly attributed the inferno to a drunken fan discharging a flare gun. Arrest made, and no bodies found, they washed their hands of the matter. The next morning, a few sleepless souls gather to find what they lost in the fire - a muse, a cherished possesion, a loved one. All can be recovered, but only at the cost of secrets spilled, relationships endangered, chosen sacrifices, and fighting the truth about last night's smoke on the water.

Smoke On The Water is inspired by the events in Deep Purple's song of the same name, with many details changed, including the addition of the supernatural. Characters include concert attendees, band members, and first responders. This is a low-to-no mechanics game focusing on characters and decisions. Any music in-game will be represented by reading lyrics given to the players, though players may chose short performance if they desire.
