The hum of Gargantua’s engines fills you ears when the cryochambers lid slides open. The familiar rattle of the T-47’s battered hull is reinsuring. The black void beyond is not.
Sitting up is a pain, fighting nausea and headache. How long in the box? Everything is blurry! Trying to remember what the hell you are doing. Captain Millers words echo through the mind-fog.
-”Listen up you scumrats! I have a solid lead on a downed freighter, easy picking, big bucks. It’s scolding hot so we need to move on it fast!”
The reloading was hectic. Probably forgot something! New faces, some old hands didn’t make the last trip! Can still remember their melting faces. Zero-g fire is terrible, you can’t get away.
How far out are we?
The floor is freezing, would love a pair of slippers!
