Do Androids Dream? is a Nordic Larp, with two separate runs on the 3rd and 4th of February, 2017. It was created by the organization Ariadne’s Red Thread. The larp seeks to explore what it is that makes us human, the nature of Androids and where the two meet. It’s a larp about the darkness of a future where no one cares and where humans constantly seek new excesses in order to feel alive.

Also, it is about the feeling of sitting at a noodle bar in a dystopian futuristic city where it always rains, drinking your worries away.

The first larp in the trilogy is set at the tail end of the first N6 Androids lifespan. There, a small group of Androids have discovered a way to break free from the most fundamental conditioning of their DNA – the one that prevents them from harming a human being. Armed with that knowledge, they try to escape their bonds and find individual freedom as well as more years of life. They are on a hunt for the Creators, to demand more life from them.

Meanwhile, they are being followed by the CSO, the Company Security Offices and their bounty hunters. The larp is about all the places where their lives intersect – the people from the bar where an Android worked, the brothel where another has sought shelter, the crime syndicates trying to get their merchandise back, the detectives looking into their disappearance and the bounty hunters themselves. It’s about how every individual choice creates a complex weave of consequences.

The larp ends with the death of all or nearly all of the Androids, but also the death of the majority of the Creators – the geniuses who made the Androids possible in the first place.
