Under the rule of the hated Doge Giovanni Pesaro, Venice in 1659 is a dangerous place. The streets and alleys are stalked by muggers, madmen and assassins, and something ancient awakens under the water of the city-states’s canals, rattling the very foundations of the City of Masks.
