Against the Dark Conspiracy is a supernatural thriller ttrpg. Players take the role of Operators, capable individuals who previously made their living in the world’s overlapping crime and espionage communities. They have discovered there is a Vampire Conspiracy beneath the skein of what passes for normality. Doing dubious and dangerous things for their country or personal gain has left Operators with few ties to family or friends. Operators in this game are not necessarily ‘nice’ people. They have a history of doing things no one should be proud of. That has left them scarred and damaged. Sometimes that damage surfaces in the history they share with other members of the team ... some of the only people left they care about and trust. We will develop the detail of the teams' target and location and the nature of the threats they may face and then discover if that briefing survives contact with reality. Players will collaborate to define the threats, obstacles and complications their Operators will face on the way to (perhaps) acheiving their Operational Objective. This is a game about the supernatural; about merciless monsters intent on doing humanity harm, and their cruel and venal pawns. It is intended to be rich in darkness, foreboding and horror, so we will be playing with with Lines & Veils and the X-Card, as well as the Open Door. I will bring some starting Lines and veils to the table but players will have a chance to add to them. You can get a feel for the game here.
