Beschreibung
The players take control of the narrative and game world in this game set in the city of Kazaril, in a period not unlike our Edwardian period. The setup: The head of the Black Media empire has made a fortune and shaped the industrialization of the world with their control over the news. Now Black's last days are upon them, and their children, the Black Media investors, mobsters, police, and political dissadents gather to decide the fate of Black Media, and perhaps the nation.
The Fall of House Black uses unique narrative mechanics to give control of the game world and story to the players. The game runs without a gm entirely, once the rules are explained. The system allows for characters who may have differing views on what is reality in this world- leading to a very realistic political dynamic.
Players trade a narrative resource in order to influence the direction of the story, or spend it for more dramatic world-affecting actions. The playstyle includes a lot of negotiations, schemes, backroom deals, and group discussion, and the flow is mostly dictated by the players.
The Fall of House Black explores generational trauma, greed, politicization of media, and more- the players can insert their own themes into the game.
