Description

An Avatar: The Last Airbender LARP. This game is set prior to Legend of Korra.

The city of Ba Sing Se has stood strong against the invading Fire Nation for the past 95 years. Talk of the war is silenced within the walls of the city, but that’s not the only thing that’s being kept quiet…

You are one of a number of guests invited to enjoy a history talk and a social gathering set in the Middle Ring of Ba Sing Se. Many people here are looking to network, gather information, or simply spend a night off with friends. And yet, there’s fewer of the nobility here than you thought there’d be, perhaps there’s something larger at play…

Remember, there is no war within the walls.

Some Additional GM Notes: This is a re-run of a 10+ year old game, pretty much as is. As such, it is a relatively more freeform, hand-wavy kind of game yet also has some self-managed “PvP”-like elements within this more open concept. Modern day larp design could see some inherent danger in that design. Please modify your play as needed with that in mind, and check in with me or one another as you feel necessary.

If there is an overarching idea of this game, it is about feeling the atmosphere of Ba Sing Se for a few hours. Some additional run details will come with the casting survey email. If you don’t know what Ba Sing Se is, this game will spoil some aspects of Avatar for you. You can still play, but may be somewhat confused by the situation of the Earth Kingdom.

Content Warnings
Death, war, mind control, silencing of the truth. Things the Dai Li does in the cartoon.
